Jeonnam Superintendent of Education Kim Dae-jung, 63% Pledge Fulfillment Rate in 2023

It has been revealed that the campaign promises of Kim Dae-jung, the 4th elected Superintendent of Education of Jeonnam, achieved a 63% implementation rate compared to the 2023 plan.


According to the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education on the 26th, the 4th elected campaign promise implementation evaluation team inspected the progress up to the first half of this year for 30 campaign projects across 5 areas.

As a result of the inspection, the campaign promises of Superintendent Kim Dae-jung in the 4th elected term showed a 63% implementation rate compared to the 2023 plan, and a 27% implementation rate compared to the entire 4-year plan.


By project, goals such as the formation of the ‘Public-Private-Academic Education Cooperation Committee’ to revitalize local education, and the expansion of support for school uniforms, gym uniforms, and school trip expenses to reduce parental burdens and realize universal educational welfare were achieved. The operation of multicultural policy schools and the visiting Korean language education support project were also evaluated as meaningful achievements.


Additionally, some projects facing difficulties due to legal and institutional constraints are expected to be achievable within the term through continuous collaboration with the central government, local governments, and related organizations.


An official from the provincial office of education stated, “Campaign promises are commitments to the residents that must be kept,” and added, “We will make our best efforts to fulfill the promises during the remaining period for a great transformation of Jeonnam education.”
