There are growing expectations that the release of the iPhone 15 series, scheduled for this fall, may be delayed beyond the initially anticipated timeline.

On the 22nd (local time), according to local media such as AppleInsider, Wells Mohan, a global securities analyst at Bank of America (BoA), recently noted in a research report that Apple's next-generation iPhone debut could be postponed beyond September.

Based on an inspection of Apple's supply chain channels, Mohan predicted that the iPhone 15 launch might extend into the fourth quarter, from October to December. He expressed concern that this could disappoint Wall Street, which expects a third-quarter (September) release. However, he did not specify the exact reasons for the potential delay in the iPhone 15 launch.

The information and communications specialized media outlet The Information also presented a similar outlook. On the 20th, the outlet reported that there could be a shortage of inventory for the flagship iPhone 15 series models, the Pro and Pro Max, which might cause a delay in the release. Apple sources the displays for these models from LG and others, but these displays reportedly failed to pass the 'reliability test' when installed in other components.

Although corrective work is already underway, The Information reported that this could particularly limit the availability of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The outlet also noted, however, that "Apple may delay the release until more devices are produced, but it is expected to strive to launch on time regardless of inventory."

Apple has recently been advancing the schedule for new iPhone releases.

The iPhone 12 was unveiled on October 13, 2020, but the following year, the iPhone 13 was announced on September 14. Additionally, the iPhone 14 was released on September 7 last year.
