Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong is receiving questions related to the Seoul-Yangpyeong Expressway, which has been the subject of ongoing route change controversies. Minister Won plans to respond to these questions later through videos or written statements.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has been accepting questions online since the 21st through the two-way communication platform 'Onttong Square' and social media, and announced that Minister Won will personally respond in future communications.
The Ministry explained that since the media reports on the Seoul-Yangpyeong Expressway route on the 3rd, it has been actively addressing some media misinformation and raised claims, but to resolve the continuing spread of controversy, Minister Won has created an opportunity to communicate directly with the public.
Additionally, the Ministry stated that all materials related to the route change discussions will soon be made available for the general public to review.
Through this communication, Minister Won said, “We will strictly respond to the indiscriminate fake news regarding the Seoul-Yangpyeong Expressway and sincerely answer the public’s inquiries so that the Seoul-Yangpyeong Expressway project, a long-standing wish of the residents of Yangpyeong County and the nation, can be normalized as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile, on the 12th, Minister Won uploaded a video on his YouTube channel in which he personally appeared to refute various 'special treatment allegations' related to the Seoul-Yangpyeong Expressway. This video has been viewed approximately 580,000 times as of that day, making it the most viewed video on Minister Won’s YouTube channel.
