The Presidential Office did not comment on the court-ordered detention of President Yoon Seok-yeol's mother-in-law, Choi Eun-soon (76), on the 21st.
A Presidential Office official said after Choi's appellate court ruling, "The judiciary's decision is not something the Presidential Office should comment on."
The Uijeongbu District Court Criminal Division 3 (Chief Judge Lee Seong-gyun) dismissed Choi's appeal in her appeal trial on the same day, where she was charged with forgery of private documents and other offenses, and sentenced to one year in prison in the first trial, and ordered her detention in court.
