A group who threatened a foreign couple with a firearm and stole money from them has been apprehended by the police.
According to Gyeongju Police Station on the 21st, at around 8:10 PM on the 20th, Mr. A, in his 40s, and Mr. B, a Joseonjok in his 50s, threatened a Thai couple in their early 30s near a convenience store in Oedong-eup by pointing a gas gun at them and demanded cash.
They took 1 million won in cash that the Thai couple had and 9 million won withdrawn from a nearby bank's ATM.
The police special forces, who responded to the report, analyzed CCTV footage and arrested Mr. A at an officetel in Ulsan at 12:33 AM on the 21st. Following Mr. A's statement, Mr. B was also apprehended at his residence in Oedong-eup.
They were previously colleagues at the same workplace but are currently known to have no specific relationship.
The police seized the gas gun and 10 million won in cash from the suspects and are investigating the details of the crime.
