Ruling Party Files Police Complaint Against Kim Eo-jun
Broadcaster Kim Eo-jun stated that he would "report again after additional investigation" regarding the spread of 'fake news' claiming that a three-term lawmaker from the People Power Party was involved in the background of a teacher at Seo-i Elementary School in Seocho-gu, Seoul, who was driven to an extreme choice. However, he did not offer a separate apology for confusing subscribers by delivering fake news or for mentioning the lawmaker by name.
On the 21st, Kim explained on his YouTube broadcast ‘Kim Eo-jun’s Humility is Difficult News Factory,’ "Before the end of yesterday’s broadcast, additional information was gathered, so I corrected that the previous information was inaccurate, but in case some people missed it, I am correcting it again," adding, "As of yesterday morning, based on the investigation up to that point, I said it was a three-term lawmaker from the People Power Party who was involved."
In the previous day’s broadcast, he raised suspicion, saying, "It has been reported that a current politician is involved in the elementary school teacher’s extreme choice case. I understand that the politician is a three-term member of the People Power Party," but "there is no coverage at all."
As a result, Assemblyman Han Ki-ho, a three-term lawmaker whose children are registered in Seocho-gu, came under scrutiny. Assemblyman Han said, "I have four grandchildren in total, but none of them attend the school in question. (The child of the parent accused of abuse) is said to be a female student, but one of my granddaughters is a middle school student," adding, "I will hold those who maliciously spread false information and defame me through personal attacks legally accountable to the fullest extent."
The People Power Party’s Media Legal Team announced on the 21st that they would file a complaint with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency against Kim for defamation by spreading false information.

On the same day’s broadcast, Kim tried to downplay the issue by saying, "I will investigate further and inform you again," but he did not apologize to Assemblyman Han Ki-ho, the Seo-i Elementary School officials, or the confused YouTube viewers.
Meanwhile, People Power Party leader Kim Ki-hyun wrote on Facebook, "Kim Eo-jun, the 'lie manufacturer' who spreads fake news every time he opens his mouth, shamelessly claimed on his broadcast that a three-term lawmaker from the People Power Party was the cause of the extreme choice by an elementary school teacher in Seoul," adding, "We will definitely bring Kim Eo-jun, who repeatedly incites falsehoods to the public, to strict legal judgment."
