Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 21st that it will hold a "Life-Sharing Love Blood Donation" event using a blood donation bus at the county office parking lot from 10:30 a.m. on the 25th for local residents and employees.
The Love Blood Donation campaign was prepared to ensure a stable supply of blood due to the decrease in blood donors caused by low birth rates and population aging.
The blood donation bus will be supported by the Jeonbuk Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross and will be held at the Gochang-gun Office parking lot.
Donors should avoid excessive drinking and overwork the day before, get more than 4 hours of sleep, and have a meal before coming.
Those taking medication for hypertension, diabetes, or hyperlipidemia can donate blood, and a thorough medical examination will be conducted before donation to check health status and ensure safe blood donation.
Donors will receive a free 7-item blood test, 4 hours of volunteer service credit and official leave, and a commemorative gift.
The county is promoting the Love Blood Donation campaign quarterly, four times a year, to ensure a stable blood supply, spread the culture of blood donation, and take the lead in fulfilling social responsibility.
Yoo Byung-su, Director of the Public Health Center, said, "I hope that employees and residents will actively participate in the life-sharing blood donation campaign."
