Seoul City "Check Your Neighborhood's Energy Usage at a Glance"

‘Seoul-si Energy Information Nuri-jip’ Opens

Seoul City announced on the 21st that it will operate the ‘Seoul Energy Information Website’ from this month, where energy statistics such as energy (electricity, gas, heat) consumption and greenhouse gas emissions can be checked in one place.

Until now, the city has operated separate websites providing energy and greenhouse gas-related information, such as the Energy Information Platform, Sunlight Map Website, Greenhouse Gas Monitoring System, and Magok Energy Integrated Platform. However, since the display formats differed by system and there were issues with duplicate data collection, the city decided to integrate the websites to reduce administrative waste caused by individual management and to enhance user convenience.

The Seoul Energy Information Website consists of 5 categories and 23 submenus. For example, the ‘Energy Map’ allows users to select a region on the map and check the energy consumption of that area, and the ‘Energy Simulation’ offers solar power generation forecasts and virtual experiences of electricity trading.

Additionally, users can check the status of legally mandated civil complaints under Seoul City’s jurisdiction, such as the Electric Utility Act and Electrical Construction Business, which were previously only accessible through inquiries to officials. The Promotion/Resources section provides various environmental and energy policy materials promoted by Seoul City.

The city plans to provide various energy information through the ‘Energy Information Website’ in the future. Kim Jaewoong, Head of the Green Energy Division, said, “Citizen participation in energy saving and efficiency is essential to respond to the climate crisis and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.” He added, “The integrated and open ‘Seoul Energy Information Website’ contains various information helpful for energy saving, as well as regional energy consumption comparison and analysis. We ask for the active use of this service by citizens.”
