Cheongsong-gun Leads in Producing High-Quality Safe Agricultural Products

GAP Certification Cultivation Technology Training

Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held a 2023 Agricultural Products Excellent Management System (GAP) certification and chili pepper cultivation technology training on July 19 for 226 Cheongsong chili GAP member farms in the area.

Leading the production of high-quality safe agricultural products, Cheongsong-gun holds certification for the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and provides cultivation technology education.

This training was conducted by inviting Yu Geun-hyeok, a GAP certification officer from the Agricultural Products Quality Management Service Gyeongbuk Branch, as the instructor. It covered essential topics that farmers must know, such as the necessity of the GAP certification system, the concept and certification procedures of GAP, the current status of GAP operations, and crop-specific GAP cultivation guidelines.

The Agricultural Products Excellent Management System (GAP) refers to appropriately managing risk factors such as pesticides and heavy metals at each stage from production to distribution of agricultural products to ensure safety and preserve the agricultural environment. Implementing GAP is required to obtain GAP certification.

To receive GAP certification, it is mandatory to complete a 2-hour training session. For certification renewal, training must be taken at least once every two years.
