Wando-gun Promotes 'Safety Sensor Support for Single Women Households' Project

Support for 5 Types of Items Including Home Cameras and Door Opening Sensors

Wando County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Shin Woo-cheol) announced on the 20th that it will promote the ‘Safety Sensor Support Project for Single Women Households’ to create a safe residential environment for crime-vulnerable groups such as single women households.

The Safety Sensor Support Project is a campaign promise of the 8th civilian governor and plans to provide crime prevention supplies (5 types) free of charge to about 70 people, including single women households, to prevent crimes such as stalking and home intrusion.

Applicants must be residents registered in Wando County for more than one year as of the application date and belong to single women households, single-parent families (including father-headed families), or households of female crime victims.

The support items consist of five safety sensors: three basic items (self-defense spray, corpse eraser, window lock) and two optional items (smart doorbell or home camera, door opening sensor or portable emergency button). For the optional items, wireless internet (Wi-Fi) installation at home is required.

The application period is about three weeks from the 20th to the 10th of next month. Applicants can submit their documents to the local town or township office (Customized Welfare Team) of their address or send them by mail or email to the County Office’s Resident Welfare Division. The selection results will be notified individually via text message next month.

Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, “I hope this project will help crime-vulnerable groups such as single women households live with peace of mind,” adding, “Furthermore, the county will do its best to discover and implement various policies to establish a dense social safety net.”
