Mainz, Dortmund Veteran Park Joo-ho Recruited as Commentator
CJ E&M announced on the 20th that it will exclusively broadcast the German Bundesliga on its sports channel tvN SPORTS and online video service (OTT) TVING.
The company will broadcast all matches of 'Bayern Munich,' the team to which national team defender Kim Min-jae has transferred. To this end, they have recruited Park Joo-ho, who was active in the German league during his playing career with Mainz and Dortmund, as a commentator. Thomas Tuchel, the current Bayern Munich coach, was Park's coach when Park was with Mainz. At that time, Coach Tuchel described Park as an "irreplaceable super option."
The first broadcast will be the DFL Supercup held at 3:35 AM on Sunday, August 13. The DFL Supercup is a one-off match between the Bundesliga champion and the winner of Germany's FA Cup, the DFB Pokal. This year, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig will face off again, as they did last year. If Bayern Munich wins this match, Kim will lift his first trophy since moving to Germany in his debut game.
In addition, all major matches featuring Korean players, including Mainz where Lee Jae-sung plays and Stuttgart, newly joined by Jung Woo-young, will be exclusively broadcast on tvN SPORTS and TVING.
