Ulsan City is entering the second review of the Innovation City Development Plan.
On the 20th at 3 PM, Ulsan City will hold the "2023 1st Ulsan Innovation City Development Committee" (co-chaired by the Mayor of Ulsan and the President of Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology) in the large conference room on the 2nd floor of the City Hall main building.
At the meeting, about 20 participants including Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom, President Oh Yeon-cheon, members of the Ulsan Metropolitan City Innovation City Development Committee, and officials from the Ulsan Research Institute will conduct a review of the "2nd Ulsan Innovation City Development Plan."
The Ulsan Innovation City Development Plan is a statutory plan established every five years to foster Innovation City as a regional growth hub. Its temporal scope is from 2023 to 2027, and its spatial scope covers the entire Ulsan City area.
Since April of last year, the Ulsan Research Institute has been carrying out the project for this plan, and after reviews by the Ulsan Innovation City Development Committee and the Local Era Committee, it will be finalized by September this year.
The 2nd Ulsan Innovation City Development Plan under review this day is promoted with the vision of "Ulsan Innovation City leading new industry creation and regional innovation development."
The main projects consist of 38 initiatives across five areas: ▲ revitalization of the local economy ▲ improvement of residential conditions ▲ establishment of a smart city ▲ cultivation of local talent ▲ and win-win development.
An official from Ulsan City stated, "For Innovation City to become a new growth hub leading regional development, it is most important to secure long-term growth engines and qualitatively improve residential conditions," adding, "We expect the Innovation City Development Plan to contribute to the win-win development between relocated public institutions and Ulsan City."
