Yoo Seung-min "Considering All Possibilities Including New Party and Independents"

Lecture at the event hosted by 'Jeongdang Baro Seugi'
On general election plans, "Nothing is decided"

Former People Power Party lawmaker Yoo Seung-min stated on the 19th, "Nothing has been decided yet, whether to form a new party, stay in the People Power Party, or run as an independent."

After a lecture hosted by 'Setting the Party Right (Jeongbasae)' at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in the afternoon, Yoo told reporters, "I am truly thinking freely from a blank slate."

Jeongbasae is a group that was launched by renaming 'Setting the People Power Party Right,' a responsible party member group opposing the dismissal of former People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok.

Yoo emphasized, "I am considering all possibilities with an open mind," adding, "The general election is a very important opportunity to change our politics, and although my power is weak and small, I have no choice but to think from a blank slate about where and how to act."

Regarding the formation of a third party, he said, "The public will never accept an opportunistic third party that forms a new party during the general election, gains a few seats, and then gets absorbed and merged during the presidential election like a 'fly-by-night' operation," adding, "We must make the people believe that we are determined to go all the way, even at the risk of our lives."

About President Yoon Suk-yeol, Yoo criticized, "Regarding the recent flood damage, the president should sincerely apologize to the public, taking responsibility first, and hold frontline officials accountable," adding, "In that sense, the president is using a rhetoric that detaches himself from responsibility."

He continued, "People in the People Power Party try to curry favor with the Yongsan presidential couple, and the Democratic Party members fear they won't receive nominations if they are targeted by leader Lee Jae-myung, so they are fighting to the extreme," pointing out, "There is no place for people with rational and common-sense thinking."
