LG Uplus to Install 50,000 Electric Vehicle Chargers by 2026

LG Uplus plans to install 50,000 electric vehicle chargers, 'VoltUP,' by 2026, focusing on large-scale apartment complexes and office buildings.


On the 20th, LG Uplus announced that it had signed a business agreement with elevator TV company 'Focus Media Korea' to cooperate in building electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

LG Uplus to Install 50,000 Electric Vehicle Chargers by 2026 On the 10th, at the Focus Media Korea headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, Hyun Jun-yong, head of LG Uplus EV Charging Business Division (left), and Yoon Je-hyun, CEO of Focus Media Korea, signed a business agreement and took a commemorative photo.

Through this, based on data such as the status of infrastructure including electric vehicle chargers per apartment complex, number of parking spaces, parking control, and residents' lifestyles, they will be able to provide electric vehicle charging solutions to apartment complexes and office buildings.


On the 30th of last month, LG Uplus announced its official entry into the electric vehicle charging business by signing a joint venture agreement with Kakao Mobility for the electric vehicle charging business.


LG Uplus plans to install 10,000 VoltUP electric vehicle chargers within this year and 50,000 by 2026, focusing on large apartment complexes and offices where Focus Media elevator TVs are installed.


The VoltUP electric vehicle charging service consists of ▲ high-quality electric vehicle chargers from proven manufacturers such as LG Electronics and LS Electric ▲ a control system that can prevent charging station malfunctions in advance ▲ and a 24/7 customer service center.


Hyun Jun-yong, head of LG Uplus EV Charging Business Division, said, "We will focus on the multi-family housing market, where expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure is the most urgent area, to quickly secure service coverage and enhance customer loyalty through customer experience innovation."
