'Super-Gap Startup 1000+ Project' Full-Scale Promotion
Supporting Growth into Unicorns
Startups challenging the global market in the eco-friendly and energy sectors gathered in one place. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Lee Young) announced that on the 20th, under the chairmanship of Lim Jeong-wook, Head of the Startup Venture Innovation Office, a meeting was held at Seoul Tipstown with eco-friendly and energy sector super-gap startups.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups has been conducting relay meetings with startups in 10 super-gap fields such as artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics since early this year to understand trends in new industries and resolve startups' difficulties.
The 'Super-gap Startup 1000+ Project' is a program that selects technology-based startups capable of global expansion and supports them with startup funds and research and development (R&D) to help them grow into unicorns. Ten startups in the eco-friendly and energy sectors participated in this meeting, including Terablock, LD Carbon, Quantum Cat, Enlighten, Enit, Dphone, Revest, CGI, Wonkwang S&T, and Intocore Technology.
At the meeting, presentations on industry and technology trends targeting the eco-friendly and energy sectors were given, followed by listening to the difficulties and suggestions of participating startups, and discussions on future support policies. Lim Jeong-wook said, "The global climate crisis caused by recent warming is intensifying, and the role of startups developing eco-friendly and energy-related technologies in the global market is expanding," adding, "We will actively strive to promote the Super-gap Startup Project and resolve regulations so that super-gap startups in the eco-friendly and energy sectors with core technologies can grow into unicorns in the global market."
