On-site Inspection and Listening to Residents' Concerns
Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang County, Gyeongnam, visited four village halls in Goje-myeon, Namsang-myeon, and Gabuk-myeon, where residents are temporarily evacuated due to landslide areas, to comfort the residents.
The visit on the 19th was attended by Mayor Gu In-mo, the Director of the Economic Welfare Bureau, the Head of Welfare Policy Division, and the heads of the respective myeon, who inspected the landslide risk areas and checked the difficulties faced by the residents temporarily evacuated.
Gu In-mo, the governor of Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam, is consoling residents who are temporarily evacuated.
As of the 18th, Geochang County has a total of 109 residents from 100 households temporarily evacuated in 16 village halls across 11 eup and myeon, as well as 6 relative’s homes.
Mayor Gu said, “Although there may be inconveniences while evacuating to the village halls in preparation for any emergencies caused by the heavy rain, the most important thing is that there are no casualties. We ask for the residents’ cooperation and will ensure that relief supplies are provided without shortage.”
Meanwhile, Geochang County has provided relief supplies and food necessary for temporary evacuation, and to prevent the spread of COVID-19, has also stocked quarantine supplies (hand sanitizers, masks, etc.) to actively support relief efforts so that residents do not experience inconvenience during temporary evacuation.
