On the 18th, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology held the "11th Southeastern Region CAM Technology Competition (High School Division)" at the university's Jinri Hall to promote and advance the root industry.
Hosted by Busan City, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, the Korea Federation of SMEs, and Gyeongsangnam-do, this competition is a contest where high school students from the southeastern region compete in advanced design and machining (CAD/CAM) skills using computers.
A total of 32 students selected from 9 high schools in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam participated, and 23 winners, including gold and silver prize recipients, will receive commendations from the heads of organizations and scholarships totaling 3.3 million KRW. The awards ceremony is scheduled for August 23.
Lee Hwa-seok, Director of Industry-Academia Cooperation at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, said, "This competition greatly contributes to nurturing talent through cooperation among local government, industry, academia, and research institutes," adding, "We hope it will establish a solid foundation for the promotion and advancement of the root industry."
Since 2012, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology has been holding the CAM Technology Competition annually with the goal of fostering professional technical talent through cooperation among local government, industry, academia, and research institutes.
