The "New Normal" team of Deutseum, a municipal research group of Naju City Hall employees in Jeollanam-do, recently participated in the "2023 Korean Institute of Computer Scientists and Engineers Summer Conference" held at Jeju National University Industry-Academic Convergence Center Advanced Campus and won the Excellent Paper Award.

According to the city on the 18th, Deutseum, which has been operating for 13 years this year, is a municipal research club where citizens, public officials, and employees of public institutions select research topics together to discover new and creative policies.
The New Normal team, consisting of five employees from Naju Public Interest Activity Support Center, Policy Promotion Office, Building Permit Division, and Audit Office, presented a paper titled "An Exploratory Study on Activating Stay-type Tourism Promotion Marketing through Metaverse Naju" at this conference.
Team leader Yoo Ji-young said, "The tourism industry is facing a new tourism paradigm shift from untact to ontact formats in the New Normal era," adding, "Based on this research, we aim to establish a Naju-style stay tourism development policy model."
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, "I applaud the employees who utilized their time after busy work hours to present a paper for revitalizing Naju tourism and even won the Excellent Paper Award at the academic conference," and encouraged, "I hope they design a well-structured roadmap to attract stay-type tourists so that the results go beyond the paper and achieve real-world outcomes."
Meanwhile, the Korean Institute of Computer Scientists and Engineers is a leading domestic academic society with over 6,600 members from academia, industry, research institutes, and related organizations.
It plays a role as a promoter of academic achievements to industry through certified journals by the National Research Foundation of Korea, academic conferences, journal publications, and industry-linked industry-academic cooperation programs.
