LH to Promote 'Change Up' Project for 10 Rental Housing Complexes

Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 17th that it will promote the ‘Change-up’ project, which transforms the exterior of aging rental housing complexes, in 10 complexes nationwide this year.

The Change-up project is an environmental improvement initiative aimed at fostering community culture and upgrading facilities in aging rental housing complexes. It was implemented in 6 complexes in 2021 and 10 complexes last year.

This year, the project will be carried out in 10 complexes nationwide, including Seoul Deungchon, Busan Mora, and Daejeon Panam 4, all of which have been completed for over 25 years.

LH selected 10 complexes nationwide based on criteria such as the aging level of rental housing, regional equity, demand surveys, and the feasibility of comprehensive improvements, focusing on complexes where improvement effects and resident satisfaction are expected to be high.

To create spaces that residents desire, a demand survey on residents’ requirements will be conducted starting in September this year, and the results will be reflected in the design. Construction is scheduled to begin in May next year, with completion targeted by the end of next year.

Ha Seung-ho, Head of LH’s National Housing Welfare Headquarters, said, “As the number of aging rental complexes increases, it is time to provide a higher level of service beyond facility maintenance.” He added, “We will continue to promote the Change-up project and do our best to enhance residents’ housing satisfaction and the vitality of the complexes.”
