During the CEO special lecture held that afternoon, President Jeong said, “To prepare for the future for our customers, Shinhan’s unique change management through connection and expansion is necessary,” adding, “In response to external changes, we will expand our business areas by connecting with other industries, and internally, we will connect the unique capabilities of business groups such as retail, wealth management (WM), and corporate to create better services for customers.”

President Jeong continued, “To be chosen by customers, we must become a safe bank, a professional bank, and a good bank that coexists with society, and maintain customers’ trust,” emphasizing, “For a safe bank, financial stability must be fundamentally secured, and together with a strengthened internal control system, we must establish and strictly adhere to our own rigorous code of conduct.”

He also said, “To meet customers’ demands for comprehensive financial solutions covering all areas such as finance, real estate, and taxation, we will spare no support to help our employees grow into recognized experts wherever they are.”

President Jeong stated, “We must become a good bank that coexists with society,” adding, “As a sincere corporate citizen fulfilling our social role, we should aim to be a good company that pursues excellence rather than just being number one, and through this, we can achieve a virtuous cycle where the value of customers, society, and the bank all increases.”

On the same day, Shinhan Bank also held an awards ceremony for the Win-Win Finance Contest conducted for all employees. The contest, held from the 7th to the 21st of last month, collected excellent cases and ideas for coexistence with customers to help solve social issues such as support for socially vulnerable groups, housing stability for the common people, and low birthrate and aging population.

At the awards ceremony, Kim Eun-gang, manager of Shinhan PWM Ilsan Center, who proposed the idea of ‘support for childcare leave borrowers and a life-cycle specialized savings product for children to overcome low birthrate,’ won the grand prize. Shinhan Bank plans to practically materialize the ideas of the selected employees and launch related services and specialized products.
