New Daejeon~Sejong Express Bus Route to Start Operation Next Month

A new metropolitan express city bus route between Daejeon and Sejong will be established and operated starting next month.

Daejeon City announced on the 15th that it will establish and operate the metropolitan express city bus route '1001' starting from the 18th of next month.

The establishment of the route was promoted to expand metropolitan public transportation between Daejeon, the hub district of the International Science Business Belt, and Sejong, Cheongju, and Cheonan, which serve as functional districts.

Bus number 1001 operates on a 29.6 km route starting from Jiphyeon-dong in Sejong City, passing through the Korea Development Institute, International Science Business Belt, Daedeok Technovalley, National Science Museum, Government Complex Daejeon, and ending at Daejeon City Hall.

A total of 16 buses will be deployed on the route, with Daejeon City and Sejong City each dispatching 8 buses.

The bus stops were selected by analyzing transfer and usage demand, as well as movement patterns, using transportation card data. In addition, Daejeon City explained that new stops were established mainly in areas where city bus services are not provided, minimizing overlap with existing city bus routes.

Bus number 1001 will not stop at all stops within the section to secure the speed and punctuality of the metropolitan express service.

Daejeon City plans to inform passengers by posting information about the new route on the Daejeon City Transportation Information Center website and attaching notices at the bus stops.
