Ko Gyeong-ae, Chairperson of Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced on the 13th that she participated in the child abuse prevention campaign ‘A Special Day, A Special Challenge’ on the 12th.
The campaign was initiated as part of a child rights protection project by the child-friendly city Seo-gu and Good Neighbors, in response to the social issues of ‘ghost children’ who have not been registered at birth and child abuse.
The participation method involves writing a pledge and aspirations for child abuse prevention, registering a verification photo along with it as one’s KakaoTalk profile picture, and nominating two next participants.
As the second participant nominee, Chairperson Ko joined the challenge and nominated Father Lee Jun-yong and Seo-gu Council Member Baek Jong-han as the next participants.
Chairperson Ko said, “I hope this challenge becomes widely known and helps promote children’s rights. I will strive to oversee and improve all child-related issues to create an environment where our children can dream of a healthy and happy future.”
