Damyang-gun Holds Resident Briefing Session on Health Center Relocation and Reconstruction

Explanation of Future Plans Reflecting Residents' Opinions

On the 10th and 11th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do, held a 'Resident Briefing Session on the Relocation and Reconstruction of the Health Center' at the Damyang-eup Office meeting room, attended by about 60 people including village chiefs, the county announced on the 12th.

This briefing session was held to inform how residents' opinions gathered during previous dialogues with citizens and preliminary explanations about the project site were reflected, and to introduce future plans.

The site for the relocation and reconstruction of the health center is an area where a symbolic sculpture commemorating the millennium of the Damyang place name is installed, and plans are to create a Damyang-style public office harmonizing with the surrounding environment.

The new health center construction project will cover a site area of 17,000㎡ and a total floor area of about 7,000㎡, with plans for one basement floor and three above-ground floors, and a project cost of 30 billion KRW is expected to be invested.

The newly constructed health center will be designed as a space that can be used rationally by establishing detailed facility standards for creating a public health care foundation, as health projects shift their focus to infectious disease management and disease prevention.

In addition, Damyang-gun reflected residents' opinions requesting solutions for mobility difficulties by considering alternatives such as operating shuttle buses for vulnerable groups who find it difficult to walk from bus stops, expressing the intention to transform the health center into one loved by various citizens.

County Governor Lee Byeong-no said, “Once the basic design service is completed, we will proceed with administrative procedures such as building review without delay to ensure that construction can begin in 2025 with a sense of urgency.”
