Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will increase the support amount for the Geumcheon-style side dish support voucher project ‘Together ChanChanChan’ from 40,000 KRW to 50,000 KRW.
‘Together ChanChanChan’ is a project that allows low-income middle-aged single-person households to purchase desired side dishes at side dish stores using a voucher card. To help maintain healthy eating habits for low-income families, the project started with 400 people in 2021 and is supporting 750 people this year.
Due to the recent rapid rise in prices, beneficiaries have been facing significant difficulties in purchasing side dishes. To address this, Geumcheon-gu applied for the Seoul City Co-Project for the Vulnerable in February.
Geumcheon-gu was selected for the project by receiving high marks for improving service quality through increased support funds and the potential to spread exemplary cases of projects for middle-aged single-person households.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “‘Together ChanChanChan’ is a vital project directly linked to the livelihood of low-income middle-aged single-person households who are in crisis due to unemployment, divorce, bankruptcy, and other difficulties,” adding, “We will continue to strive to ensure that low-income middle-aged single-person households in welfare blind spots are not marginalized in the local community.”
