Users of Massage Services for the Visually Impaired
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will promote the regional social service investment project in the second half of the year.
This project was prepared to develop and support social services tailored to the region by utilizing private service providers.
The project will implement 12 types of services related to physical and mental health.
The main services include ▲massage services for the visually impaired ▲assistive device rental services for the disabled ▲care travel services for elderly disabled persons ▲brain health support services for the elderly, and for children ▲infant and toddler development support services ▲child and adolescent psychological support services ▲internet addiction healing services for children and adolescents ▲non-typical sexual support services for children and adolescents, as well as for adults ▲total mental health care services ▲adult psychological support services ▲youth mental health support projects ▲sociality enhancement support services for single-person households.
In particular, until the 19th, a concentrated application period will be operated to recruit about 70 recipients for the visually impaired massage service.
The visually impaired massage service is operated to improve the health of elderly patients with senile diseases and to provide jobs for the visually impaired.
The eligible recipients are elderly people aged 60 or older or registered disabled persons with physical or brain lesions and national veterans with disability grades, whose income is within 140% of the median income (2.91 million KRW for a single-person household, based on health insurance premiums).
Elderly people aged 60 or older and national veterans with disability grades need additional documents such as medical opinions to prove musculoskeletal, neurological, or circulatory system diseases.
If selected as a beneficiary, they can receive a full-body massage service once a week for one hour each session for 12 months.
The service can be used at 10% of the total service price (168,000 KRW per month), which is 16,800 KRW per month.
Besides the visually impaired massage service, 11 other services including the youth mental health support project can be applied for at any time.
County Governor Lee Seung-hwa said, “We will make further efforts to secure budgets and promote related projects so that public and private institutions can cooperate to provide various community services.”
