Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will hold the 'Gusicheong Night Festival Eol(um)Maek(ju) Festival' in the Asia Food Culture District from the 14th to the 15th.
The Gusicheong Night Festival is an urban night festival established last year to revitalize the old downtown area after COVID-19. Following the spring festival in March and the coming-of-age festival in May, the EolMaek Festival in July and the DJing Festival in September are planned.
The EolMaek Festival, themed 'A cool beer on a hot summer night,' will take place around the Asia Food Culture District and the central plaza of Gusicheong.
Over two days, in cooperation with Heineken Korea, there will be a Tiger Beer tasting booth, music performances (DJing and busking), and participatory game booths.
During the festival, visitors can enjoy ▲outdoor tables serving food from businesses within Gusicheong ▲Tiger Beer tasting sessions and participatory game booths at the central plaza ▲busking performances and canned beer karaoke at the food workshop ▲and participate in school uniform rentals and photo printing events to create lasting memories.
Im Taek, the head of Dong-gu, said, “The Asia Food Culture District has limitless potential for development, connecting the National Asia Culture Center and Chungjang-ro.” He added, “We will spare no administrative support and attention to transform the Asia Food Culture District into a unique urban night specialized commercial area where distinctive food and culture coexist.”
