Integrated security platform company Ginience announced on the 11th that it has won the contract for the Gwangju Metropolitan City EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response solution) construction project.
Ginience, which recorded an 84% market share in the public procurement market last year, is firmly establishing its position in the EDR market by securing customers from the central government to local governments.
Gwangju Metropolitan City is investing to prevent advanced cyber threats and strengthen its capabilities. It is building a comprehensive cyber safety response system by introducing new technologies including artificial intelligence (AI). Through realistic simulation training, it is realizing the highest level of information security response capabilities.
Gwangju Metropolitan City proactively detects and blocks cyber threats through its Cyber Incident Response Center. Although it provides top-level security monitoring services, it has initiated the adoption of an EDR solution to quickly detect and respond to security threats occurring on PCs (hereinafter endpoints) due to the increase of intelligent threats such as ransomware and APTs.
The core tasks selected include establishing a rapid and efficient response system to intelligent cyber threats, securing visibility of threats across networks, logs, and endpoints, and integrated management of malware and abnormal behaviors. Whether the EDR events linked with the security monitoring system can be analyzed in conjunction with other system events to secure overall security visibility was also a major consideration in selecting the solution.
Ginience EDR is a solution for threat detection, analysis, and response through continuous monitoring and information collection on endpoints. By monitoring major activities occurring on endpoints and storing them in real time for analysis, it can detect and prevent intelligent threats in advance and enable post-incident audit trails.
Gwangju Metropolitan City expects that through sophisticated PC behavior analysis, it will defend against intelligent attacks at the endpoint level and further advance security monitoring services by linking various events and logs generated at endpoints with SIEM and SOAR. Through this, it plans to ensure the provision of safer administrative services.
Kim Junhyung, Executive Director of Ginience Endpoint Security Business Division, said, "Threats and attacks targeting endpoints such as PCs are becoming more sophisticated," adding, "We will spare no effort to support the establishment of a safe public service system in Gwangju Metropolitan City, leveraging proven endpoint stability, global-level threat detection capabilities, and technology optimized for the domestic environment."
