People Power Party Raises Offensive Against Democratic Party on the 11th
Park Dae-chul: "County Chief's Land, Prime Minister's Land, Chief Secretary's Land"
The People Power Party intensified its criticism on the 11th, blaming the cancellation of the Seoul~Yangpyeong Expressway project on the Democratic Party's 'fake news.'

Floor leader Yoon pointed out, "The former county governor was in a position to closely monitor the progress of the project as an incumbent, so there is ample reason to believe that he sought self-benefits beyond the existing family land of 3,000 pyeong," adding, "When it became clear that the theft was not well-coordinated, they became even more brazen, making extreme claims such as state manipulation and impeachment. This behavior cannot be considered normal." It is known that the wife of Jeong Dong-gyun, a former Yangpyeong County governor affiliated with the Democratic Party, purchased land in front of their residence near the terminus during the final stages of the preliminary feasibility study for the Seoul~Yangpyeong Expressway.
In response, floor leader Yoon emphasized, "The Democratic Party appears to be creating fake news and rumors about every possible issue to call for the resignation and impeachment of the administration, thereby diverting public attention from various corruption gates and suppressing demands for reform from opposition factions within the party. We hope the Democratic Party will stop this absurd political strife and return to respecting the wishes of local residents."
Park Dae-chul, chairman of the Policy Committee, also stated at the meeting, "As time goes by, the land speculation suspicions involving Democratic Party figures are only growing," and criticized, "While the alternative route proposed by the Democratic Party, which raises allegations of preferential treatment, was revealed to be the result of private research commissioned during the Moon Jae-in administration, it has become clear that the original plan promoted by the Democratic Party's task force (TF) benefits Democratic Party figures."
Park further explained, "It was revealed that former Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum purchased land in Gangha-myeon one month before the then Yangpyeong County governor and the Democratic Party's Yeoju-Yangpyeong regional committee chairman requested the installation of the Gangha Interchange (IC) in 2021. Moreover, land and buildings owned by the wife of Yoo Young-min, former Minister of Science and ICT and Chief of Staff at the Blue House during the Moon Jae-in administration, are located near land owned by the former Yangpyeong County governor's family."
Park criticized, "Former governor Jeong insists that even if the Seoul~Yangpyeong Expressway bends close to an L-shape, the terminus should be at the original Yangseo-myeon plan, which is exactly the Democratic Party's logic of 'raising land prices.' There are even remarks that if the route goes this way, it's the governor's land; that way, the prime minister's land; and that way, the chief of staff's land."
Kim Jeong-jae, the ruling party's ranking member of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, also said, "The Democratic Party's false agitation over the Seoul~Yangpyeong Expressway project has gone too far," adding, "Seeing how shameless the Democratic Party is about their words and actions, and how skillful they are at fabricating lies, I was once again horrified."
Kim continued, "The Democratic Party must realize that no matter how much they try to cover up the party leader's judicial risks, the money envelope party convention, and the Kim Nam-guk coin scandal with fake news, it is useless. It is the Democratic Party that caused the national project to face a crisis of collapse due to a single piece of fake news."
