Doosan Collaborative Robots Expand Smart Factory Ecosystem... From Welding to Transport

Doosan Robotics-Telstar Hommel MOU
Utilizing Collaborative Robot Manufacturing Solutions for Welding, Machine Tending, and Palletizing

Doosan Robotics, an industrial robot manufacturing company, is expanding its collaborative robot business by signing consecutive business agreements with industrial automation solution companies.

On the 11th, Doosan Robotics announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for "joint cooperation in smart factory construction and marketing" with Telstar Hommel, a smart factory construction specialist company, at Doosan Tower in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province.

Doosan Robotics provides collaborative robot supply, teaching services, and manufacturing solutions, while Telstar Hommel is responsible for smart factory consulting, design, and line production and construction. They also agreed to mutually cooperate in domestic and international sales and marketing activities. Telstar Hommel is a company that has carried out various projects such as Hyundai Motor's manufacturing line digitalization business and AI smart factory national projects based on its self-developed AI smart factory platform 'LINK5.'

Doosan Robotics possesses various collaborative robot manufacturing solutions including ▲welding ▲pick & place for quickly picking up and moving objects ▲machine tending for loading workpieces and unloading finished products ▲bolt fastening ▲palletizing for stacking products on pallets.

Doosan Robotics' collaborative robot manufacturing solutions are easy to program, allowing flexible changes in work. They can be easily installed even in narrow spaces without layout changes, and precise work is possible using the system's built-in joint torque sensors. Safety is ensured by applying collaborative robots that have acquired the industry's highest safety ratings, PLe and Cat4.

Ryu Jeong-hoon, CEO of Doosan Robotics, said, "Following the partnership with Rockwell Automation in the United States, we expect the supply of collaborative robot manufacturing solutions to continue in various industrial sites through cooperation with this smart factory construction specialist company."

CEO Ryu added, "By having collaborative robots perform dangerous or simple repetitive processes and allowing people to focus on higher value-added tasks, the efficiency, productivity, and safety of manufacturing sites will be further improved."

In April, Doosan Robotics signed an exclusive agreement to supply collaborative robots to Rockwell Automation, the largest industrial automation solution company in the United States, and agreed to jointly develop collaborative robot solutions necessary for various processes such as automated equipment and smart factories.
