Gmarket "Smile Delivery Upgrade, Differentiated Logistics Service"

Cost Burden Reduced with Next-Day Combined Packaging
Effectively Enhancing Sales and Operational Efficiency
Collaboration with Courier and Logistics Companies, Policy to Develop Standardized Model

Gmarket announced on the 11th that the next-day combined packaging service 'Smile Delivery' is receiving positive responses from its seller partners. This is because it reduces logistics costs while increasing sales and operational efficiency. Gmarket plans to collaborate with other courier and logistics companies to develop Smile Delivery into a standardized model.

Smile Delivery is Gmarket's own dedicated delivery service first introduced in 2014. It builds a platform that connects sellers and buyers without spatial or temporal constraints, comprehensively handling logistics processes such as order information collection, product packaging, and inventory management.

The core competitiveness of Smile Delivery lies in its combined packaging service. This method delivers multiple products ordered by a consumer in a single box, providing sellers with various benefits including cost reduction and increased delivery convenience. It is especially preferred by small to medium-sized sellers. Since it is difficult to predict order volumes and to promptly hire logistics staff when orders suddenly surge due to promotions, Smile Delivery serves as an alternative solution. The company explained that when compared under the same conditions with other companies operating logistics services in a similar manner to Smile Delivery, Smile Delivery is up to 25% cheaper, making it attractive in terms of price.

Gmarket breaks down and settles the costs incurred at each stage of Smile Delivery operations in detail. Fast settlement is also a strength. For products shipped on the same day, up to 90% of the payment is settled the next day. Through the sales management service (ESM+), sellers can also check inventory status, expiration date information, and sales turnover rates.

Gmarket stated, "We recently renewed and reopened the inbound agency service that directly picks up sellers' products and stores them at the Smile Delivery logistics center," adding, "We will continue to upgrade Smile Delivery so that both consumers and sellers can benefit."
