McDonald's Indonesia has launched a 'Wedding Package' that can be prepared as food for wedding receptions, drawing attention.
According to US CNBC on the 10th (local time), McDonald's has introduced a 'Wedding Package' for wedding receptions. The package consists of a set with a chicken burger and 4 pieces of McNuggets. The price for 100 people is around $200 to $230 (approximately 260,000 to 300,000 KRW). This means that a set menu can be provided at about $2 (3,000 KRW) per guest.
According to McDonald's Indonesia, newlyweds who want to use this wedding package must order at least 200 food items. McDonald's Indonesia revealed the package event on SNS with the promotional phrase, "Make your wedding more memorable with McDonald's Wedding Package."
However, McDonald's Indonesia does not allow the store to be used as a wedding or reception venue. Instead, when ordering the 'Wedding Package,' a temporary McDonald's branch is set up at the wedding reception venue to serve the guests. Currently, there are about 250 McDonald's branches in Indonesia.
This is not the first time McDonald's has launched a wedding package. Previously, in 2011, some Hong Kong McDonald's branches sold a wedding package including a wedding cake and goodie bags (gift bags given to party participants) for $1,300. At that time, the store could also be used as a reception venue.

According to the "2023 Wedding Cost Report" released by the wedding preparation company Duo, the average wedding cost (the combined amount of wedding hall reservation fees and wedding package costs) rose by 8.76% compared to the previous year, reaching 13.9 million KRW from 12.78 million KRW. The rental fee for wedding venues increased by about 500,000 to 1,000,000 KRW compared to last year, and in particular, the meal cost per person rose by 5,000 to 7,000 KRW, reaching an average of 45,000 KRW.
