'The Outlaws' Korea's First Series to Reach 30 Million
Disney·Pixar animated film 'Elemental' has topped the weekend box office for three consecutive weeks.
According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticket sales network on the 10th, 'Elemental' attracted 800,460 viewers over the three-day weekend (7th-9th), securing the number one spot at the box office. Since its release on the 14th of last month, it has accumulated a total audience of 3,406,139.
'Elemental,' which reversed its box office trend, reached the number one spot on the box office on the 24th of last month. Maintaining the weekend top position for three consecutive weeks, it became the fifth film released this year to surpass 3 million cumulative viewers.
The series has recorded a total of 30 million viewers for the first time in Korean film history, with the first film (2017) attracting 6,880,546 viewers, the second (2022) 12,693,415 viewers, and the third adding 10,533,880 viewers.
'Mission: Impossible ? Dead Reckoning Part One,' starring Tom Cruise and opening on the 12th, drew 166,220 viewers through paid previews, ranking third.
Fourth place went to 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,' fifth to 'Spider-Man: Across the Universe,' sixth to 'Summer Days, Us,' seventh to 'Guigongja,' and eighth to 'The Devils.'
The total number of viewers who visited theaters over the weekend was counted at 1,658,643.
