Non-face-to-face Submission and Verification of Documents
Hana Bank announced on the 9th that it will launch the ‘Create My Child’s Account’ service, allowing minors to open accounts via mobile without visiting a branch.
Previously, customers had to visit a branch with two types of family relationship certificates (basic certificate, family relationship certificate), but from now on, when parents open accounts for their minor children, they can do so non-face-to-face through Hana Bank’s mobile application ‘Hana One Q’. Without the need for document issuance procedures for account opening, family relationship certificates can be automatically submitted via a scraping method using Hana Certificate (or Joint Certificate) within the app.
This service was promoted following the revision that allows parents with legal guardianship to open accounts in their children’s names non-face-to-face, in accordance with the ‘Financial Regulation Innovation Promotion Direction’ announced by the Financial Services Commission in July last year.
A Hana Bank official stated, “We have become the first bank to start a service that allows parents to quickly and conveniently open accounts for their minor children without document issuance and verification procedures,” adding, “Hana Bank will continue to strive to provide differentiated products and services centered on customers through digital innovation.”
