Kishida Holds Phone Talk with Erdogan... "700 Billion Won Support for Earthquake Recovery"

Support for Turkey Earthquake Damage
Provision of 55,000 USD Yen Loan
Erdogan Expresses Gratitude

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida held a phone conference with Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkiye, on the 6th. The purpose was to convey his intention to provide support amounting to over 700 billion won to aid in the recovery from the earthquake damage that occurred in Turkiye last February.


According to local Japanese media, Prime Minister Kishida expressed his intention to grant approximately 34 million dollars (about 44 billion won) in non-repayable funds to President Erdogan.


He also added that Japan would provide a yen loan worth 550 million dollars (about 710 billion won) for the restoration of earthquake-affected areas.


Prime Minister Kishida reportedly indicated his willingness to promote technical cooperation, including support for seismic technology in public facilities.


President Erdogan expressed his gratitude.
