Yeongdeok-gun Senior College, This Year's Traveling Education... Expanding Learning Opportunities

Opening Ceremony on the 5th, 26 Sessions Conducted for About 240 Participants in 8 Myeon of Yeongdeok-gun

Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held the opening ceremony of the 2023 Yeongdeok-gun Senior University on the 5th at the Senior Welfare Center in Chuksan-myeon, targeting about 240 people from 8 jurisdictions.

Yeongdeok-gun Senior College, This Year's Traveling Education... Expanding Learning Opportunities Kim Kwang-yeol, Yeongdeok County Governor, giving a greeting.

This year’s Yeongdeok-gun Senior University, operated under consignment by Daegu Haany University, offers various programs including health management, liberal arts classes, recreation, and field trips over 26 sessions.


In particular, to accommodate seniors who find it difficult to attend classes due to long distances, a rotating education system is implemented across the 8 jurisdictions to ensure no senior is excluded from learning.


At the opening ceremony, Kim Hong, Director of the Career and Employment Office at Daegu Haany University, conducted an orientation on this year’s program schedule and gave a lecture on senior health management and dementia prevention during the summer season.


County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol said, “We support the new challenges of our seniors and hope this will be an opportunity for participating seniors to realize their potential and grow,” adding, “We hope that through Senior University, you will lead the local community well with useful information and knowledge.”
