Comprehensive Social Welfare Center with Good Accessibility for Residents of Gangil and Sangil Areas to Open in July, Operating Regularly on Weekdays
Equipped with Counseling Rooms, Multipurpose Rooms, Offices, Providing Various Community-Based Social Welfare Services
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced that it has opened a smart welfare center near Gangil Station to provide comprehensive social welfare services, starting operations from July.
The ‘Gangil-dong Smart Welfare Center’ is established on the 3rd floor of the Gangil 2 District community facility (95 Sangil-ro 12-gil) near Gangil Station on Line 5, covering approximately 77㎡ with counseling rooms, multipurpose rooms, offices, etc. It will be operated according to the local conditions and characteristics so that residents of Gangil-dong and Sangil-dong can more conveniently access the community welfare services previously provided by the comprehensive social welfare center.
Until now, Gangdong-gu has installed comprehensive social welfare centers in Cheonho-dong and Seongnae-dong, providing welfare services aimed at preventing and solving community welfare issues based on the participation and cooperation of local residents. However, residents in the Gangil and Sangil areas experienced inconvenience due to poor accessibility.
With the opening of the Gangil-dong Smart Welfare Center this time, accessibility to social welfare services for residents in the Gangil and Sangil areas has greatly improved, and it is expected that more residents will be able to conveniently enjoy welfare service benefits in the future.
At this center, various local projects will be carried out, including ▲case management projects for children, adolescents, seniors, and persons with disabilities ▲home welfare ▲service provision projects such as education and cultural programs ▲resource development and management ▲resident organization, and an ‘open counseling room’ will be operated regularly to help solve difficulties or problems faced by local residents together.
The multipurpose room will host various small-scale programs for seniors, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable groups, and programs reflecting the preferences of local residents will also be discovered and operated.
Additionally, the center plans to activate local welfare-related networks by establishing an organic cooperation system with the community service center, local community security council, related organizations, welfare facilities, etc., to effectively respond to the prevention and resolution of community welfare issues.
The smart welfare center’s operating hours are from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., operating regularly on weekdays, and it is available to all Gangdong-gu residents.
Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, stated, “We will continue to carefully monitor and strive to create a welfare environment that considers vulnerable groups such as seniors and persons with disabilities who have difficulty moving, so that all residents can receive welfare service benefits.”
