Expectations to Alleviate Labor Shortage in the Aviation Industry
Sacheon City in Gyeongnam signed a four-party memorandum of understanding (MOU) at City Hall with Yeonam Institute of Technology, Sacheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the KAI Manufacturing Division Council to foster excellent aerospace industry-tailored talent and promote mutual development.
The signing ceremony held on the 4th was attended by Park Dongsik, Mayor of Sacheon, Ahn Seungkwon, President of Yeonam Institute of Technology, Seo Heeyoung, Chairman of Sacheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Kim Taehyung, Chairman of the KAI Manufacturing Division Council.

This agreement was made as related organizations actively came forward to nurture and produce customized talent in the aerospace industry capable of proactively responding to changes in the global aviation market.
They agreed on ▲ fostering aerospace industry-tailored talent and inducing employment within the region ▲ discovering support projects for stable settlement in the region ▲ exchanging the latest aerospace industry technology information and research cooperation ▲ cooperating in operating customized curricula and student technical education ▲ jointly carrying out projects and jointly utilizing existing infrastructure.
Mayor Park said, “As this is the first step of industry-academia-government collaboration to achieve the common goal of talent development, I hope that by dividing roles among institutions and maximizing the value of cooperation, the goals of resolving manpower shortages in the aerospace industry and inducing employment within the region will be successfully achieved.”
