Mid-term Review of Preliminary Feasibility Study for Metropolitan Railway Line Passing Through Four Local Governments

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseong Hoon) announced that Mayor Yuseong Hoon attended the mid-term report meeting of the preliminary feasibility study for the 'Sincheon~Sillim Line' held at Siheung City Hall, Gyeonggi-do on the 4th.

The Sincheon~Sillim Line is a railway project jointly promoted by four local governments?Siheung and Gwangmyeong in Gyeonggi Province, and Geumcheon and Gwanak in Seoul?to expand the metropolitan railway network connecting Sincheon-dong in Siheung, Haan-dong in Gwangmyeong, Doksan-dong in Geumcheon-gu, and Sillim-dong in Gwanak-gu.

After signing a joint agreement at the National Assembly Members' Office Building last November, the preliminary feasibility study is currently underway.

At this mid-term report meeting, the demand forecasts for each route reviewed so far and the optimal route were reported, and future schedules were discussed.

Following the final report meeting scheduled for October this year, the optimal route will be selected, and the study results will be reflected in the national railway network plan to proceed with the project in earnest.

Mayor Yuseong Hoon of Geumcheon-gu said, “The construction of the Sinansan Line, a long-awaited project, is progressing smoothly with its opening scheduled for 2025. Starting with this preliminary feasibility study, once the Sincheon~Sillim metropolitan railway line is newly established, Geumcheon-gu is expected to become a key transportation hub in the southwest area of Seoul.”
