On the 4th, Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense announced that nine military aircraft belonging to the Chinese People's Liberation Army crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait. The median line of the Taiwan Strait is an unofficial boundary declared by the United States after the US-Taiwan Mutual Defense Treaty to prevent conflicts between the two sides.
According to Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense, starting from 8 a.m. that day, the Chinese People's Liberation Army deployed 24 military aircraft including J-10, J-11, SU-30, H-6, and Y-12, as well as four naval vessels, to conduct patrols in the area. Among them, nine military aircraft crossed the median line and its extension into southwestern airspace.
The Ministry added that Taiwan's military is closely monitoring and responding by conducting joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance to track the movements of the People's Liberation Army, while inspecting and dispatching mission aircraft, vessels, and missile systems.
The Ministry of National Defense stated, "Maintaining regional security and stability is a shared responsibility of all parties in the region, and the international community holds a strong consensus on this." It added, "Any provocative actions that could affect this will not contribute to regional security."
