The first entrance ceremony of the Volunteer University in Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam, was held at the multipurpose hall of the Namhae-gun Comprehensive Social Welfare Center with the determination to "make it the mecca of volunteering in the Republic of Korea."
The entrance ceremony held on the 3rd was attended by 27 students, Namhae-gun Governor Jang Chung-nam, Yoon Soon-hwa, Executive Director of the Central Volunteer Center, Kim Hae-moon, Executive Director of the Gyeongsangnam-do Volunteer Center, and Ryu Young-hwan, President of the Namhae-gun Volunteer Organization Council.
The 1st Entrance Ceremony of the Volunteer University in Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam, was held at the Multipurpose Hall of the Namhae-gun Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.
The ceremony began with a congratulatory ocarina performance by the new volunteer group, Happiness Plus Volunteer Group, followed by an introduction to the Volunteer University curriculum, greetings from the university president, congratulatory remarks from the Executive Director of the Gyeongsangnam-do Volunteer Center, and a lecture on the "New Normal of Volunteering" by Yoon Soon-hwa, Executive Director of the Central Volunteer Center.
Governor Jang, the president of the Volunteer University, welcomed each entrant by name. Governor Jang said, "Those attending here today are people who always volunteer sincerely for our community," adding, "I hope that the Volunteer University schedule will be successfully completed according to the well-prepared curriculum in the second half of this year so that Namhae-gun can become the mecca of volunteering in Korea."
Executive Director Kim said, "I hope that the Volunteer University will serve as an opportunity for harmony and communication among volunteers. I support everyone to complete the course successfully from the opening to the closing in November."
Meanwhile, the Namhae-gun Volunteer University was launched as the third in the province, following Goseong-gun and Gimhae-si. From July to November, twice a month, it plans to cultivate the qualities of professional leaders in volunteer fields through basic and specialized volunteer education. The policy is to work for a better future of Namhae-gun through a differentiated volunteer education curriculum.
