Park Il-ha, Dongjak-gu Mayor, Talks with Residents on the First Day of the 1st Year of the 8th Term

Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) celebrated the first year of change in Dongjak-gu by successfully hosting the event “Residents Ask and the District Mayor Answers” on the afternoon of the 3rd at the Dongjak-gu Office auditorium.

This event was held to share the district administration’s vision based on the achievements of the first year of the 8th local government and to reflect residents’ opinions in the district administration.

About 200 people, including Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, the Youth Mayor, and residents, attended the event, which included ▲Dialogue with Residents ▲Announcement of the Top 10 Policies ▲Proclamation of the Dongjak Vision.

First, during the ‘Dialogue with Residents’ session, discussions were held on the district administration’s direction across four themes?urban development, welfare & culture, education & economy, and daily life & safety?to lead new changes with residents. When numeric keywords for each theme were presented, Mayor Park Il-ha explained their meanings and thoughts and answered residents’ questions, continuing a meaningful dialogue.

Also, the ‘Top 10 Policies’ selected directly by residents through voting were introduced, providing a chance to review the everyday changes and major policies in Dongjak-gu over the past year. The first place was awarded to the policy titled ‘Resolving everyday inconveniences that have not changed for 10 years decisively,’ and the second place went to ‘Revolutionary expansion of automatic road heating for safety even during heavy snowfall!’

Following this, the 2nd year vision of the 8th local government, ‘New Changes, Greater Future,’ was proclaimed, and a calligraphy performance featuring the phrase ‘My Pride, Dongjak’ was presented.

Through core keywords for the 2nd year such as ‘Momentum,’ ‘Growth,’ and ‘Future,’ a blueprint was presented, and the meaning was explored through a Q&A session with the district mayor.

Alongside this, the renewed Dongjak-gu characters ‘Dongjaki and Gukhwassi’ were unveiled. They plan to communicate the vision of Dongjak through a friendly image reflecting the latest trends.

This event can be viewed again on the official Dongjak-gu Office YouTube channel.

Mayor Park Il-ha of Dongjak-gu said, “If the past year led tangible changes in everyday life, the coming year will aim for new changes and a greater future to create Dongjak-gu as a city of the highest value.”
