Since December last year, Mrs. Kim has continued volunteer activities with local Saemaul Associations in Busan, Daegu, Pohang, and Daejeon. This volunteer activity was also held at the invitation of the Gangwon Saemaul Association.

Mrs. Kim wore a white T-shirt made from recycled PET bottles. The T-shirt, printed with the phrase "Bye Bye Plastic," was the same one she wore during a campaign to reduce plastic use with university environmental club students at Korea University on the 5th of last month.

Mrs. Kim then visited the Gangneung Jungang and Seongnam markets to encourage traditional market merchants who have been struggling due to recent wildfires in Gangneung and to interact with tourists.

Mrs. Kim stopped by a rice cake shop and a fruit and vegetable store to purchase 150,000 won worth of potato rice cakes and pumpkin rice cakes, and 275,000 won worth of peaches and watermelons, respectively, to send to elderly people living alone. She then visited a market sashimi restaurant to taste and purchase seafood such as fresh squid sashimi.

Mrs. Kim also handed over reusable ice packs made by the Saemaul Association to the chairman of the Gangneung Jungang Market Merchants Association, urging efforts to protect the environment. The reusable ice packs will be used to pack sashimi for tourists visiting the fish market during the vacation period.
