Gyeongnam Police Agency-Hamyang Station, Special Crackdown on Drunk Driving ... Over 40 Cases Including License Revocation and Unlicensed Driving

"Drunk driving leads to major accidents, and the victims could be your own family, so do not drive if you have even one drink."

The Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency made this plea while pointing out the unstoppable detection of drunk driving.

The provincial police agency announced on the 3rd that it conducted a special weekend crackdown on drunk driving from the 1st to the 2nd.

They explained that they supported two undercover police cars from the provincial mobile crackdown team and 10 police motorcycles to the Hamyang Police Station, where traffic fatalities have recently increased, to carry out the crackdown.

Together with the Hamyang traffic patrol team, they conducted sudden crackdowns day and night, and carried out visible crackdowns and patrols in accident-prone areas such as Hamyang-eup, Anui-myeon, and Seosang-myeon, as well as promoted accident prevention for elderly pedestrians and agricultural machinery.

According to the provincial police agency, a total of 8 people have died in traffic accidents recently in Hamyang, which is 4 more than last year, and 6 of the deceased, accounting for 75%, are aged 65 or older.

Accordingly, the Hamyang Police Station has issued a traffic emergency alert and is conducting special duty for one month.

During this crackdown, on the 1st at around 1:50 p.m., a man in his 40s was caught in Hamyang-eup, Hamyang-gun, with a blood alcohol concentration at the license suspension level.

During the two-day joint special crackdown, the number of cases detected included 7 warnings, 1 drunk driving arrest, 4 unlicensed driving cases, 5 motorcycle helmet violations, and 25 passenger car signal violations.

The provincial police agency plans to support mobile crackdown teams around tourist spots and summer resorts and conduct sudden drunk driving crackdowns day and night as the peak summer vacation season approaches.
