Twosome Place announced on the 3rd that it has appointed Moon Young-joo, former president of Burger King Korea (BKRL), as its new CEO.
According to Twosome Place, CEO Moon is a leading Korean foodservice entrepreneur and marketing expert with over 30 years of extensive experience in successfully introducing, developing, and operating various dining brands.
Starting his career at Cheil Worldwide, he served as the CEO of Orion Group's foodservice subsidiaries for 15 years, introducing the American casual dining restaurant Bennigan's to Korea and growing it into a representative corporate foodservice company. He also developed and operated various F&B brands, including Market O restaurants. At the same time, in 2000, he was the general manager of Orion Group's multiplex cinema business, where he developed and launched Megabox and F&B concessions at Seoul COEX Mall.
From 2013 until recently, CEO Moon served as the CEO of BKRL for 10 years, earning the reputation as the "longest-serving CEO in the Korean burger industry." He is credited not only with driving the rapid growth of Burger King Korea but also significantly contributing to performance improvement, corporate value enhancement, and brand competitiveness.
Twosome Place explained that it made a decisive recruitment of CEO Moon, highly valuing his expertise and capabilities, having led the growth of various brands over a long period and achieved concrete results across overall management.
