Sixteen students from the Department of Architecture at Dongmyung University participated in the LINC3.0 Project Global Capstone Design field trip, touring famous architectural sites around Paris, France, for 10 nights and 11 days starting June 16.
This field trip program is part of the regular international exchange program with the sister university, Paris-Belleville University, with both universities jointly funding the expenses.
A total of 35 participants, including students, faculty members, and practicing architects from both universities, visited iconic works by world-renowned architects such as Le Corbusier’s Villa Savoye, Alvar Aalto’s Maison Louis Carr?, and the Pompidou Center, an experimental building representing contemporary architecture in Paris.
Additionally, they toured prominent architectural sites showcasing recent European design trends, including the Philharmonie de Paris, the Louis Vuitton Foundation Museum, and the Quai Branly National Museum.

Cha Hanseop, the student representative from Dongmyung University’s Department of Architecture, said, “Visiting Villa Savoye and the Pompidou Center, which I had only admired in books, was truly moving, and this trip will greatly help with my graduation design project next year.”
The joint field trips between the Department of Architecture and global architecture universities are held every semester. The next schedule is planned for January next year, when about 30 students and faculty members from the University of Kansas in the United States will visit Dongmyung University.
The Department of Architecture at Dongmyung University achieved outstanding results in 2022, including the highest number of awards nationwide in major student competitions and a public employment rate of 93.1%, supported by international cooperative education and the nation’s only BIM-specialized double major program.
