Kim Ki-hyun "Moon administration's attempt to seize public broadcasting, requires intensive investigation"

Kim Ki-hyun, the leader of the People Power Party, stated, "Through a thorough investigation into the so-called 'public broadcasting takeover documents' carried out at the level of the Moon Jae-in administration, the planners and executors must be completely rooted out and definitely punished."

On the 1st, Kim made this claim through his Facebook, saying, "The illegal attempts by the Democratic Party administration to seize control of MBC and KBS are being exposed in broad daylight."

Kim mentioned the dismissal issues of former KBS President Ko Dae-young and former MBC President Kim Jang-gyeom. Both were dismissed from their positions in January 2018 and November 2017, respectively.

Kim said, "The Moon administration illegally changed the structure of the KBS board to oust former President Ko, who was appointed during the Park Geun-hye government," adding, "In the process, the dignity of some executives disliked by the Moon administration, including former President Ko and Director Kang Gyu-hyung, was brutally trampled upon." He continued, "There has been no official apology from former President Moon, Democratic Party figures, or the KBS union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions regarding the illegal dismissal."

Regarding former President Kim, Kim Ki-hyun said, "The unjust dismissal process of former President Kim, which was carried out according to the Democratic Party's broadcasting takeover documents at the same time as former President Ko, must also be properly investigated." He also stated, "Former President Kim was sentenced to eight months in prison with a two-year probation for the absurd charge of unfair labor practices, and the appeal trial has been pending at the Supreme Court for three years. The Kim Myung-soo Supreme Court administration is 'delaying and suppressing' the Supreme Court ruling on this case, which is also full of questions."

Kim concluded, "In the name of fair and just rule of law, I urge a thorough investigation without sanctuary into KBS and MBC, the biased media union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, and even the unjust power holders who seized public broadcasting."
