Cumulative Visitors in May Surpass 70,000
Approximately 90% Increase Compared to Same Period Last Year
Kumho Resort announced on the 29th that the number of visitors to Hwasun Aquana, the hot spring water-based water park at Hwasun Spa Resort, surpassed 70,000 as of the end of last month. This figure represents an approximately 90% increase compared to the same period last year. It is also about a 30% increase compared to 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic. This is analyzed as a result of the growing number of 'early vacationers' who want to enjoy water activities amid the early arrival of the heat wave.
Hwasun Aquana is a water park equipped with a large hot spring bath, aqua pool, outdoor swimming pool, and open-air bath, using hot spring water containing alkaline lithium components. Since last month, the outdoor water park has also opened on weekends and public holidays.
From July 22 to August 20, before the regular operation period of the outdoor water park, Hwasun Aquana created a resting area inside the water park for family customers. Sunbeds and water beds were additionally introduced outdoors. To prevent slipping accidents, the flooring material of the water park was also replaced. Various photo zones were prepared as well.
A Kumho Resort official said, "As the summer peak season approaches, we are expanding attractions for vacationers and gaining popularity as an attractive leisure facility."
