On the 29th, Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced that it has formed the “Anti-Corruption Integrity Promotion Team” and held an anti-corruption integrity operation meeting to realize a trustworthy and clean Jeongeup for its citizens.
The Anti-Corruption Integrity Promotion Team is a permanent meeting body composed of Jeongeup Mayor Lee Hak-su as the head, along with the vice mayor, department heads, and other senior officials.
They are responsible for securing the driving force to improve integrity.

At the meeting, they shared the comprehensive 2023 anti-corruption and integrity improvement plan based on the 2022 comprehensive integrity evaluation results and discussed improvement measures for corruption-prone areas.
They plan to promote effective integrity policies based on fairness and principles, take the lead in enhancing the implementation rate of anti-corruption and integrity policies, and in promoting and spreading these integrity policies.
Mayor Lee Hak-su stated, “To improve integrity, changes in systems, innovation, culture, and values are necessary. It requires senior officials’ self-purification efforts to improve outdated habitual cultures and foster an organizational culture of communication and empathy. I hope everyone will work hard to realize Jeongeup City as an integrity city that changes lives through communication and trust.”
Meanwhile, the city is striving to improve integrity by implementing 30 policy tasks across five areas, including integrity campaigns to spread a culture of integrity, continuous operation of the Integrity Public Official Misconduct Reporting Center to eradicate various corrupt and unethical acts, and mandatory integrity education for all employees, aiming to create a transparent and clean public service society.
