Gwanak Youth Network Hosts Youth Policy Forum at Cheong

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) will hold the ‘Gwanak Youth Network Youth Policy Public Forum’ from July 3 to 8 to deliberate and discuss youth policy agendas.

The ‘Gwanak Youth Network’ is Gwanak-gu’s representative youth participation organization composed of youth aged 19 to 39, organized into four subcommittees (▲Social Participation ▲Jobs ▲Culture and Arts ▲Living Stability).

Since February, the Gwanak Youth Network has been active in each subcommittee and has discovered four youth policy agendas: ▲solving the problem of isolated youth ▲alleviating youth employment difficulties ▲revitalizing the cultural and artistic community ▲youth housing and medical care.

The youth policy public forum will be conducted in a way that after each subcommittee presents its proposed projects, participants including residents and experts share experiences and opinions and freely discuss.

The district office plans to review the feasibility of the discovered agendas, overlap with existing projects, etc., with experts such as the Korea Youth Policy Institute and related departments, and make the final selection in August to reflect them in district policies.

The public forums will be held by subcommittee as follows: ▲Social Participation (July 3, 7:30 PM, Bongcheon Station Nomas Greenery) ▲Jobs (July 5, 7 PM, Gwanak-gu Office Annex 7th Floor Auditorium) ▲Culture and Arts (July 6, 7:30 PM, Gwanak-gu Office Annex 7th Floor Auditorium) ▲Living Stability (July 8, 2 PM, Gwanak Orang Sillim-dong Three Room).

Applications can be submitted via Google Form until July 2, and anyone who is a resident of Gwanak-gu as well as Gwanak-gu youth can apply. For inquiries, contact the Youth Exchange Team of the Youth Policy Division at Gwanak-gu Office.

Mayor Park Junhee said, “I hope that policies that youth can empathize with and be satisfied with will be discovered through the public forum,” and added, “We look forward to the active participation of those interested in youth policies in Gwanak-gu.”
