The Police University Institute of Security Policy announced on the 28th that it held an academic conference jointly with the National Police Agency, the Korean Society of Police Research, and the Korean Society of Public Administration.
On the same day at 2 p.m., the Police University Institute of Security Policy held an academic conference at the Babieng2 Education Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, under the theme "Scientific Security Strategies Preparing for a Safe Future, Professional Research Platform." They discussed the necessity and establishment plans of a specialized scientific security research institution to respond to future society.
The first session analyzed the necessity of a specialized scientific security research institution and similar cases, while the second session discussed the establishment plans for such an institution.
Yoon Hee-geun, Commissioner of the National Police Agency, stated, "The Institute of Security Policy must develop into a central institution specialized in security research," and added, "I hope that wisdom and valuable opinions for the development of the Institute of Security Policy into a professional research platform will be discussed more in-depth."
Kim Soon-ho, President of the Police University, emphasized, "The establishment of a specialized scientific security research institution is necessary to prepare for new threats arising from technological advancements and social changes."
